Progressive’s latest Flo ad, Rallying Cry, focuses on the just-expanded
rollout of Snapshot, a patented computer gadget that monitors real-time driving
habits. It’s now available to non-customers and promises to identify savings of up
to 30% on premiums.
“We’ve adapted our creative efforts,” Charney says. “Rallying Cry is less about
humor and more about the technology.”
More than 750,000 Progressive customers have used Snapshot, but Progressive says it
is too early to gauge non-customer response. Industry analysts say the device could
be a game-changer, given pricing models based on actual driving patterns instead of
typical pricing metrics such as demographics, vehicle types and consumer credit
